Question 7:Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Looking at both magazines you can clearly see the improvements I have made from my college magazine to my music magazine. I have learnt how to use a range of techniques to edit my images so that the main image doesn't look flat and dull like my college magazine image. By altering this alone it has made my magazine look more professional and the model look flawless. I have learnt techniques that I've used to make my text on my front cover look more professional and appealing to the audience on my music magazine.

As for the colour combination, I have looked at the colour theme for my music magazine in more depth, and I have looked at what colours compliment each other rather than choosing random colours. By researching my colour options further and how this links to my genre, my magazine looks more pleasantly appealing than my college magazine. I have chosen colours that reflect my magazine genre and looked at how the colour can associate my genre in more depth than how I looked into colour for my college magazine.

The research into layout designs has really paid of. I looked at a range of magazine and payed close attention to the set up of the magazines. Looking at my music magazine the layout looks more organised and looks more conventionally like a real magazine. I have also used the spacing and positioning of the context on my music magazine more effectively as there isn't as many gaps as there is on my college magazine.

I have thought more into my text styles on my music magazine than my college magazine, as my music magazine uses more appropriate text styles for my music genre. Also the text is more interesting and appealing on my music magazine than my college magazine as it stands out more and is bolder than the college magazine text.

I have learnt how to use all sorts of tools and techniques from when I started the course to now. When I started the course I knew little about any tools on photoshop and I only knew the basic tools. Now I know how to edit my photos so that I get the best result from them. I know how to change individual sections of an image rather than the image as a whole. I now know how enhance colours and only resonantly figured out how to change text blending options.
