Question 4: Who would be the audience for you media product?

For my magazine I decided to aim my target audience to those who are interested in the genre of my music magazine. To appeal to this particular group I researched what my model would be wearing and how they would present themselves on the cover of my magazine. To do this I looked at a range of country music magazines to get the ideal position of my model and clothing she would wear. This was so that this would appear striking to those interested in country music and other people looking at my magazine.

I chose to have a female model on the front of my cover because when I looked at other magazines, I noticed that the female artist Taylor Swift was on most of the. This gave me an idea to choose a female model as it best represents this particular music genre. I also choose a female artist because those who tend to be interested in this style of music, is usually the female gender. As she is female, this would be a better role model as girls, tend to be more mature and positive role models to use. Thus appealing to most female audiences rather than male. I then went on to choose an age I would base my model on. As I wanted to aim my magazine between 18-26 I thought that my model would be between this age range so that my audience would be able to relate to the context of the magazine and the role model. Usually teenage girls look up to people of this age group as a role model to themselves. From doing this research I was able to predict the type of person to read my magazine. To help me pick the right conventions and features I created a reader profile.

Before constructing and designing my magazine I decided to create a reader profile so that I could base my magazine on this type of person. Looking at research, as country music isnt a popular genre magazine, I decided to look at magazines outside the UK and see what context and look at who they aim there magazine at. I also looked at prices and other conventions and features they used in there magazines. With this knowledge I made an ideal person to read this magazine based on this research.

Public Survey for my magazine for feedback on my products:

Question 1) What Genre do you think my magazine represents?

Question 2 ) What type of audience do you think this magazine is aimed at?

Question 3) What is the first thing you are drawn to on my front cover?

Question 4) If you could change anything on any of my products, what would you change?

Question 5)Does my housestyle match throughout all three of my products? If so state how?

Question 6) What is your responce to the colour theme used?

Question 7) What would you rate my magazine from 1-10? (1 being the worse, 10 being the
best)

Looking at the results from my survey, the colour of my text needs tweaking if I was to improve my magazine based on my survey results. Also I would also consider looking at the colour theme of my magazine as I have used a lot of colour for all of my products. Conventionally from looking at the results, it suggests that my magazine looks like a real magazine.

Looking the rating for my magazine, the results show that my magazine would be fairly successful if released to the public market. With few errors, if I was to alter these I would expect my magazine to be rated above 8.
